"Treat others the way you want to be treated."
The Golden Rule is a moral principle of altruism found in many human cultures and religions.

The Ten Tips for being More truthful
1) Make a commitment to tell the truth
Always tell the truth, it will help clean your conscience and it will always be the right thing to do.

"Speak the truth, even if your voice shakes."
2) Tell someone about your commitment
I disagree with this statement because I am a person who would prefer keeping things to herself. "Fake it till' you make it."
3) Think before you give a dishonest answer, explanation, sarcasm, or reason.
Always make sure to double think about what you are about to say. Remember that thinking twice is better.

"Think twice before you speak, because your words and influence will plant the seed of either success or failure in the mind of another."
4) Be careful of when and how you use exaggeration, sarcasm, or irony.
Although i am a person who likes to kid around, there are times that one has to think of their limits. One has to be careful of what they say and the circumstance.
Image result for think twice before you speak
                                     5) Be careful not to twist the truth or leave out part of it.
                                                        Image result for truth
"Better to be slapped with the truth than kissed with a lie."
6) Don't indulge in little white lies.
"Don't lie, just don't lie, stay honest and avoid problems."

7) Watch out for silent lies.
8) When you catch yourself lying, throw your mouth into reverse
Image result for when you catch yourself lying
"You can run with a lie, but you can't hide from the truth. It will catch you!"
Make sure to just not lie, at some point point it will catch up to you and you'll regret doing so.
9) Talk to yourself
Talking to yourself is a very handy thing to do. For instance, I am always talking to myself whether it is to make a decision or just to do it. It helps me at times make decisions because although I can be mentally debating something as soon as I say it out loud to myself, it helps me realize how dumb the situation is or how to fix my decision. It helps me make my decisions.  Sometimes talking to oneself is better than talking to others. Talking to myself helps me realize that if I were to lie, from a different perspective I wouldn’t like that as another person. That is why talking to yourself is possibly the best tip for being more truthful.

“Of course I talk to myself. Sometimes I need expert advice.”
Talking to yourself also helps you feel better. Although it may sound a bit dumb, it can help boost your own self-esteem.
10) Treat yourself when you tell the truth
Make sure to always tell the truth. If needed from time to time treat yourself although I don't necessarily agree with this statement. You shouldn't be encouraged to tell the truth by earning something. Instead we should just be honest and tell the truth.
                                                            Reflection:
The ten tips for being more truthful is an important set of tips that everyone should use in their lives. Being an honest person is important to building up character. Everyone digs a person who is truthful and yet isn't too truthful. An example being when a person is way too honest that they end up saying rude things and hurting peoples feelings.
                                                         Image result for being honest
"Telling the truth and making someone cry is better than telling a lie and making someone smile."
the ten tips benefit me in making me a better person in which people can come too because they know I will be completely honest.

                                         "How the Internet Works"
Incription helps scramble messages in order to mix the information in order for hackers not to figure out. Information can consist of bank account, passwords, etc. 256 keys are mixed in order to hid the messages making it very hard for even computers to attempt and figure out. Next world war may consist of the abuse of technology. For example a country can hack into the systems in the U.S. and shut down the water supply, transportation, etc. Many viruses are disguised as security updates, which is one of the many ways they can enter your system. The url which is what you type in order to get to a website stands for Uniform Resource Locator. In order to get into a website, it isn;t as easy as it seems. The computer requests a server which can be found on the other side of the earth and within milliseconds, the page will load. HTML stands for hyper text markup language is the language used for a website to tell them how you want, like the project we focused on in the beginning of the year. In order to use spotify, the computer just does not connect directly to the server. If it were to do so, the internet wouldn't be as fast as it is now. People believe that the internet is an easy, simple thing to use since it is easy and simple to use. but behind it lays so many complex ways that it works, that it is astonishing. Details, numbers, codes, etc are everywhere getting constantly sent. For example, if one were to message someone a message, in order for the computer to do so it changes it around to a sort of "code" and then changes it back to the way you had originally arranged it. We are able to send bits of information by using light, being able to travel at the speed of light.

                                                               10 Keys to Personal Power
                                                                          Brian Tracy

Key 1:  Clarity
"Have vision. Determine what you want to be, do or have in life. Have a sense of direction and know where you're going. If you do not have clear specific goals in life, you are doomed forever to work for others who do."

Make sure to get your things done. Do what you gotta do to succeed. Fake it till you make it. If you want to reach the top level of success, then you do you. Do the things that are best for you and of course don't satisfy yourself with small things. Aim for the big things. Don't stay underneath someone, surpass them for your benefit. If they can do it so can you.

                                                                        Key 2:Competence
"If you commit to excellence, opportunities will always come your way. The harder you work, the better you get."

Competence- Being good at what I do, capable, effective

People should be eager to accomplish a certain task, no matter the situation it is what many people dig for. For example, in a job interview, the person interviewing you will ask questions hoping to find qualities that show that you have the commitment to become a better person.
Key 3: Concentration
"Make the best use of your time. Ask yourself"Is this the best use of my time?" before you start anything."
Image result for concentration
Concentrate in your goal.
Key #4 Common Sense
Act well your part; there all honor lies.
Key #5: Creativity
"Except the fact that every human being is a genius. The hallmark of creativity is asking questions. The people who are most creative ask the most questions."
I don't agree with the statement
Key #6: Consideration
"The quality of your relationships with other people will determine your success in life"
"Develop the people skills you need to become a better communicator. Take courses in listening, speaking, etc."
"If you were to learn one new word a day, within 5 years, you'll be the best educated person in history."
Be a people person, be friendly, avoid being very anti-social
"A little consideration, a little thought for others, makes all the difference." -Eeyore
Key #7: Consistency
"Dependable, steady predictable work is always superior to fast spurs of work."
"Be consistent in your relationships, your family, friends, your boss, your work. Be the person that people can depend upon. That if you say you'll do something you do it."
"If you are persistent, you will get it. If you are consistent, you will keep it."
Key #8": Commitment
"No success is possible without commitment. The ability to commit yourself whole heartily is the basis of achieving all success."
"Become totally absorbed in your work . Be totally committed."
Image result for commitment
"It's not effort. And when you implement that effort into your life... Every single day, that's where transformation happens. That's how change occurs. Keep going, Remember why you started."
If you are going to begin doing something make sure to actually want to do it. Don't just do it just because. Stay committed to what you want to do in order to succeed in it. For example I would like to stay committed in basketball in order to improve in my skills and have it better for myself and for my team.
Key #9: Courage
"The fear of failure is the single greatest reason for failure in life."
Image result for courage quotes
"Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear- not absence of fear." -Mark Twain
courage is most often seen as standing up, as being brave. courage is when you're scared yet still willing to do certain action.
Key #10: Confidence
"You only get confidence by doing things over and over again."
Practice makes good. Doing things over and over again make you become used to things to the point where you're good at it. By doing things repetitively makes one become confident of the action because they got used to doing it various times.
 Image result for confidence
"Confidence is like a muscle: The more you use it, the stronger it gets."
In order to get muscle you repeat doing a certain workout many times until you receive the results you want. Begin using confidence and it will make you more of a leader.
Reflection: The 10 keys are very important. I am currently applying all of the keys in my life, especially in basketball. In order to succeed in this sport I must have each one of these keys because they help me throughout my practices and furthermore to my games.

The 7 habits of Highly Effective People
Habit 1: Be Proactive
"Habit 1 is the key to unlocking all the other habits and that's why it comes first. It says, "I am the captain of my life. I can choose my attitude. I'm responsible for my own happiness or unhappiness. I am in the driver's seat of my destiny, not just a passenger."

"Stop waiting for things to happen. Go out and make them happen."
I do what I want when I want too. I do things for me.
Habit 2: Begin with the End in Mind
"Control your own destiny or someone else will."

Habit 3: Put First Things First
"Organize and execute around priorities."
Organize your thoughts and ideas. Put the most important things first in order to improve your life and see positive changes starting to occur.
"Once you have a clear picture of your priorities that is values, goals, and high leverage activities organize around them."
Only in that way will you start seeing results that will slowly make you reach your goal. And in that moment, when you have reached your goal will you realize that it was necessary for you to put your priorities first. For example, the two marshmallow experiment. Little kids are put into a room with a marshmallow and are promised that if they wait for the adult to come back they will receive another marshmallow. Some kids put the thought of another marshmallow in their head that stops them from eating it. It's their priority to obtain another marshmallow.
Habit 4: Think Win-Win
"Think win-win or no deal."
"You have to know you can win. You have to think you can win. You have to feel you can win."
This quote is well related to basketball. In basketball, when I have games before every game i think to myself that we got this win. Starting off with a well set positive mind helps a lot. Because we want to win, even if we lose we win. We played a good game enough to make us feel as if we win. Although getting that W is important what is the most important thing is how we played. If we know we played good and did what we were supposed to improve on then who cares. We win because we win.
Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, then to be understood
"Diagnose before you prescribe."
"Most people do not listen with the intent to understand; they listen with the intent to reply."
-Stephen R. Covey
Listening is when you actually pay attention to what a person is saying. You make that connection to the point where you try understanding what it is the person is saying or going through.
Habit 6: Synergize
"'The whole is greater than the sum of its parts (1+1=3)"
1+1>2
Synergize is the habit of creative cooperation. It is teamwork, open-mindedness, and the adventure of finding new solutions to old problems.  Put together, we are worth more. when two or more people or organizations combine their efforts, they can accomplish more together than if you added their accomplishments achieved separately.
Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw
Four dimension of self-renewal: Physical, Mental, Spiritual, Social/Emotional
"Give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four sharpening the ax."
The saw is a sort of representation of ourselves. In this case when it is mentioned "I will spend the first four sharpening the ax," it is saying to prepare ourselves. We must prepare ourselves physically, mentally, spiritually, socially, and emotionally. the most we can in order to do tasks. No matter how big the tasks are, we have to pay attention to ourselves and spend enough time to ourselves for our good.

Reflection:
I believe these 7 habits actually do make a person more effective. We must set our goals to know what way we wish to head. We must put our priorities straight to do what is more important first. Always have a positive mind set and win-win. Even when you don't win you win. Making sure you actually listen when a person is talking is important and finally, preparing ourselves for what actions we plan to do.

                                   Three Fundamental Techniques in
                                             Handling People
technique #1:
Don't criticize, condemn or complain
"If you want to gather honey, don't kick over the beehive."
In order to do things correctly do it wisely. Risk it but don't risk things too much. If you get overly excited it can cause for negative consequences in this case being the bees escaping the beehive and attacking you. For example, if one wants to get better at basketball they can't expect for it to happen at that instant. Neither can they get mad that the results they want aren't appearing as fast. Feeling mad about it can make them get frustrated and mess up their foot work, causing an injury. Who are you to be judging another person. You never the consequences so just bite your tongue. If you have nothing good to say then don't say anything at all.
Technique #2
Give honest and sincere appreciation
"The secret in dealing with people"
people do things for a reason. When they do things for your best and good intentions we should always give an honest appreciation. Why? Because maybe it took that person so much guts to tell you that or maybe they mentally debated whether to tell you or not. In other circumstances what ever you had done deserved a sincere appreciation. Maybe you didn't want to do what you did but something told you to do so. Having someone give you an honest appreciation can mean alot to you.
"Appreciation can make a day, even change a life. your willingness to put it into words is all that is necessary."
-Margaret Cousins
Technique #3
Arouse in the other person an eager want
"He who can do this has the whole world with him. He who cannot, walks a lonely way."
Make people want you. Business wise, if you show a good resume, a good personality and everything they're looking for they're going to want you to work for them. Make people have that feeling to want you. It can benefit you in various ways. For example, if you have been working in a certain place for a while now and are one of their best workers, if they see you have had ideas of leaving they'll do anything in their hands to keep you with them. Businesses are all competitive and will do whatever is possible in order to keep their best workers with them. If you can't get people to want you, they don't have much of a benefit.
Final Reflection:
Be a good person in every aspect. The type of good person that businesses and people want in their life. Make sure to try your best and not speak bad of everybody, because you, yourself have many flaws. Nobody is perfect and neither are you, so who are you to judge them? Always make sure to thank people in the most honest way so that they know you appreciate it. And make sure to use your qualities against them. Use the qualities you have in order for businesses to want you more and for example give you a raise in order for you to stay in their company.
My Christmas Break
I spent my Christmas break at basketball practice most of the time. Other than that my usual routine of chores and sleeping. I finally caught up with my sister watching friends. And of course, did my homework for APUSH and AP English. I went to the theaters for the my birthday with my friends to watch Creed. Creed was a really really good movie with Michael B. Jordan and Sylvester Stallone. Throughout the ending of break I had a basketball tournament and met plenty of new people and really good teams. Many people from different high schools attended and many games got very intense. There was a game in specific last Thursday that went on for 6 quarters because the teams kept scoring and became intense. Because our school was hosting the tournament we had to be at school by 8am until the latest 9pm. We took shifts either selling snacks, charging at the entrance, or helping at the table. In the table there was 3 things you could've been doing but only if you knew how to. for example, the scoreboard, the stop clock, or the book. I mastered the scoreboard so most of the time when Varsity girls didn't want to do it, I was the one in charge.
